Shakespeare's greatest masterpiece is more topical today than it ever was:
a government has been highjacked, the rightful king has been passed over
and the kingdom usurped by a scheming opportunist. Follow the exploits
of Hamlet, the melancholy prince of Denmark, as he seeks to avenge his
father's death and bring order and justice back to his country. Not only
is HAMLET universally considered to be among the greatest plays ever written,
rich in profound insights into human nature and the meaning of life; it
is also a suspenseful and exciting psychological thriller of murder, madness
and vengeance which has enthralled audiences for 400 years. Come follow
Hamlet through the labyrinth of his mind as he makes his choice whether
to forgive or to avenge, to live or to die, "to be or not to be."
INFORMATION: Rock The Ground Theater Company is a newly-formed theater troupe based on the Mendocino Coast. The company is made up of a core group of talented local actors, technicians and artists and is completed with artists in residence from culled from New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
