Letter of Intention
ENTHUSIASMOS An exciting new project on the Mendocino Coast This live stage performance is a unique form of autobiography told through music poetry and dance with a story of sustainable community art at its core. Coming the first two weekends of April 2008 to the Matheson Performing Arts Center in Mendocino. This is a new concept to meet the needs and concerns of our modern times. The vision is a sustainable community, vital and nourished for future generations to come. Enthusiasmos is an essential tool to offer safe self-discovery, with deep connection to neighbors and friends. This is done with professional skilled artist working with the people of our community. As this county leads the state with innovations for the health of our food crops and environmental concerns, let us also do so in the arena of the Arts. Let us pioneer the age of Sustainable Communities while recognizing the essential role music, poetry and dance plays for the health of its people. As citizens of Mendocino County the artists of Enthusiasmos offer their skills and trades to form an alliance as Sustainable Community Advocates. In Support of the longevity and low impact on our environment, the offices of Lavender Grace Productions are run on sustainable solar energy. The necessity to support local farmers, local shops and reduce our carbon footprint are a major part of this holistic vision. This alliance of artists is poised to do meaningful work on the coast of Mendocino. As we honor our amazing environment, we honor our selves. Enthusiasmos brings to the forefront the richness this county has to offer and how to keep this community alive and flourishing. The historical natural resources and industries that kept Mendocino’s economy alive in the past have all been exhausted. In our modern context our options are slim, one major avenue being illegal and the other option I believe is conscious tourism.
